Cardio isn't just about weight loss. It's about keeping your heart—the most important muscle in your body—strong and efficient.

    Benefits of Cardio

Regular cardiovascular exercise improves heart health, boosts mood, and increases overall longevity. It helps lower blood pressure and keeps your arteries clear by raising "good" high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and lowering "bad" low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood.

    How much do you need?

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of both, preferably spread throughout the week.

    • Moderate intensity: Brisk walking, water aerobics, dancing, gardening.
    • Vigorous intensity: Running, swimming laps, heavy yard work, aerobic dancing.

Remember to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen, especially if you have existing health conditions.
